Wildwood speaker series presents: Mikaela Cannon
Mikaela Cannon, author of Foraging as a Way of Life, is excited to share her passion for foraging and all things nature in the first installment of the Wildwood Ecoforest Speaker Series. This multi-part series showcases leading individuals who inspire a deeper connection to nature and advocate for sustainable living. In celebration of Wildwood's 80th anniversary, this event honors the legacy of the Ecoforest's commitment to nature and sustainability.
In her talk, Mikaela will explore how a closer bond with nature can serve as a much-needed balm in today's society. She teaches classes on sustainable wildcrafting and outdoor skills for both kids and adults and is actively involved in local climate action and Truth and Reconciliation initiatives. Her life's purpose is to protect habitats and species while fostering a connection between people and the natural world.
