Help us protect 21 acres of rare Coastal Douglas-fir forest

Thank you for being a part of making a difference on our planet … with this Donation!

This is the last parcel of underdeveloped land that was once part of Wildwood Ecoforest. Reuniting it create a total legacy of 104 acres of rare Coastal Douglas-fir Forest that will be forever protected and valued. “Wildwood (including  the 21 acres) lies within the unceded territories of the Stz’uminus, Snuneymuxw and Snaw-naw-as Coast Salish First Nations people. We gratefully acknowledge them with respect and admiration for the privilege to live, work and learn on these Lands. Their historical relationship with the Land continues to this day, and we as a settler organization continue to navigate our role in decolonizing our relationship to the land.

We have an opportunity to purchase 21 acres that were once part of Wildwood Ecoforest for $856,000.

Forest Education Bursary

No matter how big or small, your donation to this fund will help to instill a love for nature in someone who would otherwise face barriers to participation.

At Wildwood, we believe that all children have a fundamental right to access nature and to experience the joy of  learning in an intact forest ecosystem. Studies continually show that time outdoors is essential for children’s physical and mental health, personal growth, and academic success. We believe children should have opportunities to play, learn, and grow in nature, regardless of their family’s financial situation

The Forest Education Bursary makes that possible by keeping our programs accessible to all families.

“Every child needs nature. Not just the ones with parents who appreciate nature. Not only those of a certain economic class or culture or gender or sexual identity or set of abilities. Every child”. Richard Louv.
