In this timber framing course, you’ll delve into the traditional art of timber framing. We’ll employ the time-honored square rule method, dating back to the early 1800s, to precisely lay out timbers. Learn proper hand tool and power tool usage and hone your skills by helping to build a sugar shack for on-farm maple syrup production. Witness expert demonstrations on essential joinery techniques, including mortise and tenons, braces, and Japanese/Chinese techniques.
The 3-day workshop also includes a tour of the local ecoforest on May 2nd and Sloyd experience available for children of attendees for an additional $50 per child.
