A Beginner’s Workshop
October 27 (9 am to 1 pm, but allow an extra hour if you want extra practice)
Mushrooms can be mysterious. For most of the year we might be unaware of their presence, but a few fall rains and puhpowee – up they pop. This introductory workshop will focus on identification, but along the way to that goal we will touch on fungal ecology. Extra attention will be given to edible mushrooms which are relatively easy to identify, and poisonous ones to avoid. Handouts will be provided. Bring a magnifying glass if you have one, but there will be extra on hand as well.
